Quality Price ValueI got the 10K strobe almost a year ago. It's been on ever since and working fine. Recently I noticed an increase in critter noise and found that the strobe was flashing only about once every 8-10 seconds. I called Pestools, and they were very helpful. They suggested replacing the strobe tube and said that they would service the product if that didn't work.
10 year squirrel problemReview by Kwoods5400on 9/18/2012
Quality Price ValueI live on an acre of oak trees and have a spanish tile roof. I have had red squirrels nesting in my attic since I moved in 10 years ago, usually in the spring and late summer. I have trapped and relocated. I have paid no less than 3 roofing contractors over $1000 to seal potential holes. Squirrels have chewed wires and destoyed attic insulation. Nothing worked. After much research, I tried the Evictor 10K Strobe in the area they were nesting over my kids bedrooms, approx 600 square feet. I installed on a Friday morning. At first there was no effect. But as the week progressed, the kids were complaining less. By Thursday of the following week, no more noise. I know for a fact there was a mother and at least 2 young ones nesting. I am happy to report , so far so good a month later. Be patient, this product worked, were all other attemps failed. I have my fingers crossed there are no other litters born in my attic again !!! Happy in Flower Mound ,Texas
oh yes! it works!Review by judy on the forkon 7/24/2012
Quality Price ValueThought of attic squirrels and their various scrabbling, scraping, squeaking noises as merely eccentric boarders -- until they got inside my living quarters. Three times. Began to envision coming home to find my dog and 2 cats happily resting in the aftermath. Trapping would only provide steady income to the trapper. Hundreds, if not thousands, of new applicants right outside. 3 days after strobe plug-in: gone. Now (months later) they've outsmarted me with foundation-entry crawl-up, inside walls. Expect wire mesh application and one additional strobe to fully resolve. Will let you know if it doesn't ...
Great for Possums too!Review by Lorienon 5/22/2012
Quality Price ValueI live in the Sunshine state down under (Australia) and whilst we don't have squirrels we have both brush and ring tail possums (I live on a large park), they are the size of a cat, furry, but can be ferocious (they can literally shred a smaller dog if cornered).
I purchased a 10K model in 2006 and whilst somewhat dimmed it is STILL working. As it is coming into winter here there is a strong likelihood an attempt to breech the rafters may occur as I now have an extension which is a lot lower, so I have purchased a new tube as well as the 100K model to make sure every inch is illuminated.
I've been happy with mine and it has been well worth the money.
It worksReview by Georgeon 11/13/2011
Quality Price ValueOver several years, we tried different animal trapping and enclosure companies to eliminate roof rats. The rats would go away for a year or two and then we would again hear them in the attic. Most recently we had a company trap rats and re-do previous as well as add extensive new enclosure work. The rats came back in a couple of weeks. We did internet research looking for a solution and found these strobe lights. We were skeptical but also desperate and decided to give the lights a try. We started by ordering a few lights and it appeared the rats moved from the strobe light area to other areas of the attic. We then ordered lights to cover the entire attic area. We used a lot of lights because our attic has a lot of recesses. It has now been over seven months since we installed the lights. The rats were gone in a week or so and we have not had rats since.
Seems betterReview by The Rockon 11/13/2011
Quality Price ValueI installed an Evictor Strobe Light in my attic about a week ago. It seems to have quieted the squirrel activity down but did not completely eliminate them. I think I might need an additional Evictor in order to move them out completely.
Getting the Job done.Review by RxManon 11/13/2011
Quality Price ValueHi,
The Evictor Strobe has been a great help. I tried everything else with little success . Naphta worked for a while, ultrasonic sound emitters worked for a while, but the squirrels always returned . After 3 weeks with the strobe light , the problem is abating . The squirrels still come to visit but after 30 minutes or so they depart. Hopefully if we keep the unit on they will eventually stop visiting all together. I feel patience will be rewarded. Thank you very much for your wonderful product.
So far, so good!Review by ATiboon 11/12/2011
Quality Price ValueI've had (presumably) the same raccoon coming back to my attic every year for 4-5 years. It would sleep directly above our bedroom, which is built into part of the attic (so the ceiling is raised in the attic over 12 feet, and impossible to get to). I would have to rebuild part of the roof line to prevent it from coming in, and I can't reach the entrance from inside the attic. Thankfully I came across the Evictor Strobe Light online in my research. After hanging the light near the entrance over a month ago, I haven't heard the raccoon come back once!
Pest Tools Customer Service and Evictor Are the Best!!Review by Flying Squirrel Hateron 11/3/2011
Quality Price ValueIf only all companies could be like Pest Tools!
I bought a new strobe tube for my Evictor Strobe Light 10K and replaced it myself. For some reason the new tube would not strobe. I contacted Pest Tools (William Earl) by email and he responded very quickly. He instructed me to send them the Evictor and they'd take a look. I had it back in my hands, working, in 5 days which included two shipping days and the big Halloween snowstorm weekend here in the Northeast. Needless to say I was very happily surprised with the lightning fast service for which I wasn't charged - not even for return shipping.
Thank you Pest Tools!
I should mention that I've been using the Evictor for a number of years and have been very satisfied with its performance and effectiveness. We had a very bad problem with flying squirrels which disappeared overnight with the Evictor. The cost of the Evictor is less that just one visit from the pest control guy which, from my personal experience, doesn’t permanently correct the problem.
Just be sure to check your unit every now and then to make sure it's still very bright. They will dim eventually (at least mine did) after years of use. At this point it may not be fully effective. The strobe tubes are easy to replace and worth the cost to keep your Evictor running.
Evictor is a great product that has saved us a lot of money and aggravation. Thanks again Pest Tools.
When all else fails.Review by Jackon 10/27/2011
Quality Price ValueI have used my Evictor Strobe Light for two years now. It is the only solution that has defeated my attic infestation of flying squirrels. I recommend this product to all of the people I meet who have critters in the attic. Five Stars for sure.
I love that light.Review by Noreenon 10/25/2011
Quality Price ValueIn Atlanta we have terrible problems with roof rats, everywhere. Honestly, your product works like a gem. I had tried everything and even spent a lot of money to have my old fiberglass insulation in the attic floor cleaned out (along with dead rat bodies) and then had the ceiling of the attic sealed with the spray foam. That included making it airtight. Although the spray foam has saved energy cost, sealing the attic did not stop the rats. And then with no insulation on the attic floor, the nightly activity made it almost impossible to sleep. But within 2 days of installing my first light last year, the rats were gone for the first time.
Two Squirrel Evictor Lights and they are gone!Review by John Sheltonon 9/28/2011
Quality Price ValueI have been using the Squirrel Evictor for 2 years now and the squirrels have not returned. I had a problem with squirrels coming into my attic and tried traps and other means to get rid of them. The “professional Critter removal” companies wanted to charge many thousands of dollars to get rid of the problem. Two Squirrel Evictor lights and they are gone! Great product, thanks
